Biography

Melanie Yarger is a classically trained cellist. As a native Arizonan, she holds a bachelor's degree in music performance from Northern Arizona University. She has lived in New York City and Hawaii and has toured Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and the United States. She has held principal positions with the New York Festival Orchestra, the Celebrity Symphony, the Koscuiszko Opera Orchestra, Staten Island Symphony, New York Symphony and the New York Chamber Symphony.

Melanie has shared the stage with international acts such as the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience featuring Ramin Djawadi, Clay Aiken, Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo, Mannheim Steamroller, Jackie Evancho, William Joseph, and DJ Radar. She has opened for performances by Jason Alexander, Halle Berry, Seal, John Fogerty and Howie Mandel.

Although her background is classical, Melanie Yarger pushes the boundaries beyond what traditionally has been possible for solo cello. She excels at bringing life and spontaneity to her performances with a wireless system which allows her to interact with the audience in a completely different form from that of classical playing.  It allows her to be on stage, in the crowd or in the air.   She has redefined her love of one instrument to fulfill multiple skill sets which define MelanieCello.
